Cheryl gets chomped by eager fan

As regular readers will have noted by now, there aren’t many celebrity polls that Queen of Everything Cheryl Cole doesn’t win these days. Now she can add another title to her collection: the star most likely to be eaten alive by over-eager fans.
The Sun reports that Chezza had a bit of a scare while posing for photos with fans outside the Malmaison hotel in Belfast. An exuberant teenage fan lunged in to give her a smacker but accidentally bit the Geordie bruiser-turned-national treasure.
As the brace-wearing assailant disappeared into the night, shouting, “I kissed Cheryl! I kissed Cheryl!”, the star looked “petrified” and had to be ushered into the hotel by a security guard. When her partner in pop Nadine Coyle got off the tour bus a few minutes later, security bods swept her straight in.
A startled witness told the tabloid exactly what happened when Girls Aloud arrived back at the hotel after performing at the city’s Odyssey Arena: “This girl was hysterical and totally obsessed with Cheryl. She lunged at her and her brace must have nicked her lip. Cheryl looked absolutely terrified.”
A Girls Aloud spokeswoman confirmed that “Cheryl was left shaken”, and added that “as a result, the girls have been more cautious greeting fans”. Instead of staying another night in the hotel, as planned, the band and their entourage checked out and headed south of the border to Dublin for their next gig.
Cheryl wasn’t the only pop hottie to receive unwelcome attention this weekend. A drunken fan who wanted to dance with Britney Spears was hauled off by the fuzz on Saturday after storming the stage at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena.
